January 21, 1964 - I got tickets to see the Beatles on Ed Sullivan!!!

I can’t believe it! I got two tickets to see the Beatles on February 9 at CBS Studio 50. The tickets arrived in the mail today while I was at school. I called Debbie right away and she also got two tickets! We’re gonna ask Brenda and Judy to go with us. I’m so glad that Debbie’s mom told us to write for tickets. I would not of even thought to do that. What’s really neat is that the tickets are free! I would have given a year’s allowance for a ticket!!! Now I really can’t wait for February 9. Only 19 more days!!! The only thing that is a little disappointing is that are tickets are for the afternoon dress rehearsal, not the actual show. But Debbie’s mom says that’s OK because they will perform the same songs at the dress rehearsal. And, she says, we can then go home and watch the Beatles on the show that night. So we’ll get to see the Beatles twice!!!

January 20, 1964 - Countdown to Ed Sullivan -- Only 20 days to go!

I just realized that I only have to wait 20 more days to see the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show! I’m so excited! I’ve been playing the new album over and over again. I wonder what song the Beatles will perform on TV. Maybe Ed will let them do two or three songs. That would be something!

January 19, 1964 - Meet the Beatles review now posted

Today’s BLOG entry is short because I spent time finishing my review of Meet The Beatles! I got a bunch of emails from people in other cities wondering how I got my copy of Meet The Beatles! already. It seems that the record was released first in New York. And why not? New York is America’s biggest and most important city. For those of you that don’t have the album yet, you can read my review now.

January 18, 1964 - Beatles in Paris!

I had a blast last night with Debbie, Brenda and Judy. We played Debbie’s stereo version of Meet The Beatles! all night long! The record gets better with each listen. We talked about trying to meet the Beatles next month when they are in New York. I’ve already staked my claim on Paul!

My mom showed me an article on the Beatles in The New York Times. It says the Beatles are now in Paris, France! They did a show that sold out a 3,000 theater. When their power went out, people said it was sabotage. The article says they got a standing ovation. I sure hope they play a concert in New York next month!
